Spring Break...Seaside!!!

After growing up on Kauai it is hard to enjoy any beach here on the mainland...they are just not the same. I have had to remember the Oregon Coast is the "coast" and not a "beach". There have only been a few times where it was warm & not windy...this is just not bikin weather. The good old days of growing up in the islands is over. :( Wahoo we showed up to BLUE skies! Seaside has the cutest strip. Cute little shop, restaurants, pizza & arcade, bumper cars...and an aquarium (this one is reallt crappy compared to Newport, OR)

The Pizza/Arcade was one of the highlights. Carter LOVED this BasketBall game. There was a guy that played thsi one over & over. Carter was so mesmerized by him...he watched him very closely. Then when it was his turn he pushed his sleeves up just like the guy had been doing! This kid sucks in all the little mannerisms that we (& other people) do....it is hilarious!

Burrrr....it was chilly this day. (Malia has her tongue out licking the snot off her nose...no not my kid!

John may look like this in 20 years...but I will still luv him! The kids favorite part of the trip was the hotel room & the INDOOR POOL! John & Tanner loved diving into the pool after the football....they did this numerous times. And the girls had fun using dad as a dolfin/surfboard!

The kids thought that having their own room & bathroom was REALLY cool. It is funny how those things excite little kids. (We are finally realizing our family is too big to stay in 1 room. We had to graduate to the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom).

During the summer they have bumper boats & pedal boats. Hmmm...guess we ned to come back when more stuff is open. Don't they know it is Spring break!

We visited the Peter Iredale Shipwreck & the old military base, Ft. Stevens. It was pretty cool but it is better in summer time because they have jeep tours & reinactments of stuff. This was a HUGE base with numerous guns that popped out of a 20 foot diameter hole.) Highly recommend it.
